
K - 8 Aide
The Classroom Aide supports the lead teacher in providing a Christ-centered, nurturing, and effective learning environment. This position assists with classroom instruction, supervision, and daily routines while helping students grow academically, socially, and spiritually. The Classroom Aide serves as a vital support to both the teacher and students.
Instructional Support
• Assist the teacher with classroom activities, lessons, and small group instruction
• Reinforce learning concepts and provide one-on-one or small group support as needed
• Help prepare teaching materials, resources, and classroom displays
• Support students in completing assignments, staying on task, and engaging in learning
Student Supervision & Care
• Monitor students during recess, lunch, arrival, dismissal, and transitions between activities
• Help maintain a safe, respectful, and Christ-centered classroom environment
• Provide basic assistance with student needs such as organizing materials or following classroom procedures
• Encourage and model Christ-like behavior and character
Classroom Operations
• Assist with classroom setup, cleanup, and maintaining a neat, organized learning space
• Support the teacher in managing classroom supplies and materials
• Help track student behavior or progress when requested by the lead teacher
• Provide coverage for the classroom during short teacher absences or meetings
School Suppor
• Assist with school-wide events, programs, and classroom parties
• Collaborate with staff and administration as needed
• Participate in staff devotions, meetings, and spiritual activities as part of MCA’s Christian mission
• Participate in at least one PTF meeting per quarter.
• Perform other duties as assigned for the purpose of supporting a well-run classroom and school
Qualifications & Skills
• A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with MCA’s Statement of Faith
• High school diploma or equivalent (required); some college or experience working with children preferred
• Patience, flexibility, and a heart for Christian education
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Dependability, a positive attitude, and a desire to serve
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with children in a school, daycare, or church setting
• Familiarity with basic instructional methods and classroom routines
• Willingness to pursue additional training or professional development
• Eagerness to bring the love of Christ into the classroom each day
Work Schedule & Compensation
Hours: Part-time or full-time positions available; generally 7 hours/day, 5 days/week
Compensation: $8-10 / hr
