
K - 8 Teacher
The K–8 Teacher plays a vital role in delivering a Christ-centered education that nurtures students academically, spiritually, and socially. This position is responsible for planning and delivering instruction, fostering a positive learning environment, and partnering with parents and staff to support the mission of Meadowview Christian Academy.
Instruction & Curriculum Delivery
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with MCA’s academic standards and biblical values
• Instruct students in core subjects such as Bible, Math, English & Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies
• Use varied teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students
• Maintain an orderly, respectful, and engaging classroom that supports learning and spiritual development
Classroom Management & Student Support
• Create a safe, Christ-centered classroom environment where students are encouraged and challenged
• Implement consistent behavior expectations with grace and clarity
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents
• Maintain accurate academic records, attendance, and documentation
Collaboration & Communication
• Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and classroom updates
• Inform parents of methods to assist their student to improve academically.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, administration, and support staff
• Participate in school events, staff meetings, PTF meetings and professional development
• Support school-wide programs, fundraisers, and community activities
Additional Duties
• Supervise students during lunch, recess, arrival/dismissal, and other non-instructional times
• Assist with substitute coverage or other classrooms as needed
• Attend and contribute to MCA staff devotions and prayer
• Uphold all school policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
• Demonstrated personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Experience in working with and instructing school age children
• Agreement with MCA’s Statement of Faith
• Prior classroom experience preferred
• Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills
• Familiar with or willingness to learn Google Suite and basic educational technology
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (optional)
• Willingness to participate in professional development activities.
• Experience in a Christian school setting
• Familiarity with multi-age classrooms or small school environments
• Heart for ministry and Christ-like leadership
• Eagerness to bring the light of Christ into the classroom daily
Work Schedule & Compensation
Hours: 7 hours/day, 5 days/week; some events may require additional time
Compensation: Based on experience and qualifications
